Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest Preview

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest

Competition – English Premier League

Stadium: Selhurst Park

Date: 11th October 2026

Kick-off time – 14:00 GMT

Four of the last five meetings between Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have finished 1-1, and neither side has scored more than once in any of them. The two clubs meet again at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon with a single point and two places separating them in the lower half of the Premier League. Forest are 13th on five points, Palace 15th on four, and with Coventry City sitting 18th on three, neither can afford to drift towards the bottom three. Palace come into the game off a 2-0 home defeat to Bristol City in a club friendly on 3 October, though their last league outing ended in a 0-0 draw away at Leeds. Forest’s most recent game was a 1-0 home defeat to Coventry on 19 September, which left them with one win from their first five league matches. Goals have been hard to come by for the visitors, who have scored just four times in the league all season.

Palace have two wins, a draw and two defeats from their last five, and they kept clean sheets in three of them. The most recent was a 2-0 home defeat to Bristol City in a club friendly on 3 October, and their last league game was a 0-0 draw away at Leeds on 20 September. Three days before that, Palace beat Lech Poznan 4-0 at Selhurst Park in the Europa League, the widest margin in either side’s sample. Further back, a 3-2 home defeat to Ipswich in the league sits alongside a 3-0 home win over Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup. Across the five they scored nine and conceded five, but the league picture is thinner: one point from the two league games in this run, and no goals in the most recent of them. Four of the five games were played at Selhurst Park.

Forest’s last five read one win, two draws and two defeats. The most recent was a 1-0 home defeat to Coventry on 19 September, and a week earlier they won 2-1 away at Aston Villa, their only victory of the run. A 0-0 home draw with Tottenham and a 2-2 draw away at Liverpool sit behind that, and the oldest result is a 2-0 home defeat to Leeds in the EFL Cup. That leaves Forest with four goals scored and six conceded, and the split between home and away is stark: all four of their goals came on the road, where they are unbeaten in the run, while they failed to score in any of their three home games. The win at Villa remains their only league victory of the season, and Forest conceded at least once in four of the five.

Forest are unbeaten in the last five meetings, with one win and four draws, so Palace are still looking for a first win over them in this sample. The most recent was a 1-1 draw at Forest in February 2026, and the meeting before that, at Selhurst Park in August 2025, also finished 1-1. Four of the five ended by that same scoreline, the only exception being Forest’s 1-0 home win in October 2024. Both meetings in south London in the run were drawn 1-1, and no game in the sample produced more than two goals. Palace scored exactly once in four of the five meetings and failed to score only in the October 2024 defeat.

Nottingham Forest are 13th on five points, with Crystal Palace two places below them in 15th on four. A Palace win would take them to seven points, level with Chelsea and two clear of Forest, while a Forest win would lift them to eight, level with Hull City and Newcastle United.
