Tunisia vs Netherlands

Competition –  2026 World Cup

Stadium: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium

Date: 25th June 2026

Kick-off time – 23:59 GMT

Thursday night’s Group F closer at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is a dead rubber in everything but pride for Tunisia, who have already been eliminated, while the Netherlands know a point will be enough to top the group. With qualification already secured for the Dutch, the question is whether they have enough to finish first and which side of the draw that places them on heading into the knockout rounds.

Tunisia’s tournament has been a disaster from start to finish. Their most recent outing saw them hammered 4–0 at home by Japan on 21st June, a result that confirmed their elimination with a game to spare. Prior to that, they lost 5–1 away to Sweden on 15th June, conceding 4 or more for the second time in the group stage. Earlier in this run, pre-tournament form was equally bleak — a 5–0 defeat away in Belgium on 6th June, a 1–0 loss away in Austria on 1st June, with a 0–0 draw away in Canada on 1st April their only point across these five outings. Tunisia have conceded fifteen goals across their last four competitive matches and have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last five. There is little to suggest they can stop a Dutch side who will be looking to finish the group in good shape.

The Netherlands, by contrast, have largely impressed. Their most recent outing was an emphatic 5–1 home win over Sweden on 20th June, a display that underlined their quality in the final third. Prior to that, they drew 2–2 with Japan at home on 14th June in an entertaining encounter. Earlier in this run, they beat Uzbekistan 2–1 at home in a friendly on 8th June, though Algeria inflicted a surprise 1–0 defeat on Dutch soil on 3rd June. A 1–1 draw at home with Ecuador on 31st March rounds out a sequence of two wins, two draws and one defeat. The Dutch have the firepower to cause serious damage here.

In Group F, the Netherlands top the table on four points — level with Japan on goal difference — having won one and drawn one from two. A point here confirms progression, though a win would put them clear. Tunisia are bottom with no points, already out of the competition. Netherlands carry a goal difference of +4 against Tunisia’s -8, and the gulf in class is reflected in every number on the table.

The head-to-head between these sides is extremely limited. Both previous meetings ended in draws — Tunisia drew 1–1 with the Netherlands at home in February 2009, and a 2–2 at the same venue in January 1994.

In the UK, the match is live on BBC One and available to stream via BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport Web, with radio commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live. In the Netherlands, viewers can follow on NPO 1 and NPO Start. Tunisian audiences can catch the action on Watania 1 and beIN Sports, while US viewers have access via FOX Network, fuboTV, Telemundo, and UNIVERSO.
