Real Madrid vs Sevilla Preview

Real Madrid vs Sevilla

Competition – La Liga

Stadium: Santiago Bernabéu

Date: 18th October 2026

Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT

Sevilla have not taken a point off Real Madrid in any of the five La Liga meetings listed, and they travel to the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday night with that record to change. Real Madrid are fourth in La Liga on 18 points and arrive after a 4-3 win away at Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday, while Sevilla are fifth on 14 after a 3-3 draw away at Levante on Monday. Real beat Villarreal 1-0 at home on 10 October in their last league outing, whereas Sevilla have lost two of their last five and conceded nine goals in that time. Four points separate the sides, and both clubs have played eight league games, so neither has a game in hand. Kick-off in Madrid is at 8pm UK time.

Real Madrid have won four of their last five, scoring 13 goals and conceding eight. Wednesday’s 4-3 win away at Roma in the Champions League is the latest, a seven-goal game that Real won by a single goal in a thrilling combeack. Before that, Villarreal were beaten 1-0 at home on 10 October, the only clean sheet of the run, and Atlético Madrid won 2-1 against Real in the league on 20 September, the one defeat. Further back, Real won 3-2 away at Elche on 15 September and 4-1 at home against Rayo Vallecano on 12 September. At the Santiago Bernabéu, the two home games in the sample brought wins by a combined 5-1. Real Madrid have conceded in four of the five games.

Sevilla’s last five read W2 D1 L2, with seven goals scored and nine conceded. They drew 3-3 away at Levante in La Liga on Monday, the only game of the five in which they scored more than once. Before that, Aston Villa won 3-1 at Sevilla in a friendly on 2 October, and Barcelona won by the same scoreline at Sevilla in the league on 19 September. Further back, Sevilla won 1-0 away at Deportivo La Coruña on 16 September and 1-0 at home against Valencia on 11 September, both clean sheets. Of their three home games in the sample, they won one and lost two, and they have scored just once in each of the four games that were not the Levante draw.

Real Madrid have won all five of the La Liga meetings listed, with Sevilla yet to take a point and no draws, and the goals read 10-2. The most recent was a 1-0 Real win away at Sevilla on 17 May 2026, and before that Real won 2-0 at home on 20 December 2025. Three of the five were played at the Santiago Bernabéu, all won by Real Madrid by a combined 7-2, and Real kept clean sheets in four of the five. Sevilla’s only goals in the sample came in the 4-2 defeat there on 22 December 2024.

Real Madrid are fourth in La Liga on 18 points with a goal difference of +11, and Sevilla are fifth on 14 points with +1. A win would take Real Madrid to 21 points, though their position would depend on other results this weekend.
